World’s first solar-powered electric car enters production

Pune-based startup Vayve Mobility is launching India’s first solar-powered electric car Eva in the market in 2024, with deliveries set to begin in the middle of the year.

The car contains 150 watt solar panels on the sunroof that can give it 10-12 km of range everyday — or 3,000 km a year — in addition to the power from the 14kWH battery that can fuel a drive of 250km.Charging to the full limit will take you 4 hours at home, using the standard 15A plug. It also supports Fast Charging with CCS2, and can be 80% charged in 45 min.

Eva is designed to be very agile- with narrow body and wide visibility, it will be easy to maneuver and park. It will take only half the width of a regular car. With a quick pick-up (0-40 kmph in 5 sec), Eva makes city drive peppy and fun.Eva boasts of safe and reliable battery- it comes with active liquid cooling (the most advanced form of cooling). We use 14kWh LFP (a kind of Lithium-ion battery) that is ideal for the Indian climate, being thermally stable. It is compliant with both the latest AIS-156 and AIS032(Rev2) standards.Eva is optimized for safety – Seatbelts for all occupants, Driver Airbag, Monocoque Chassis and IP68 certified powertrain for water and dust resistance.Eva will have a 3-year or 1,00,000 km warranty. You can also purchase an extended warranty for 2 years or 50,000 km.
