Amazon Web Services (AWS) presents its inaugural AWS Women’s Demo Week, a groundbreaking global event set to connect women-led startups with investors. Running from November 6 to 10, 2023, AWS Women’s Demo Week will feature pitching sessions for women entrepreneurs in 18 cities around the world. The event is supported by prominent startup organizations like Ajim Capital, Founderland, GrindstoneXL, and Mogul Millennial.
The objective of AWS Women’s Demo Week is to spotlight women founders as they pitch their startups to a live audience comprising investors, strategic partners, potential customers, and startup ecosystem stakeholders.
With the funding gap for women-led startups continuing to widen, this event takes on added significance. In 2020, only 2.3% of global VC funding went to women-founded startups. In the U.S., VC funding for all-women founding teams represented just 2.1% in 2022. AWS Women’s Demo Week seeks to enhance the visibility of women-led startups, facilitate crucial business connections, and promote a more inclusive and equitable tech industry.
