Kaspersky Thin Client 2.3 Launched: Boosting Performance and Security for Modern IT

Unveiled at GITEX Global, Kaspersky has released the latest version of its thin client operating system, Kaspersky Thin Client 2.3. The update delivers significant enhancements in performance, device connectivity, and security, strengthening the solution’s position in the rapidly growing thin client market.

With the thin client market projected to reach $2.27 billion by 2035, driven by the need for secure, affordable, and easy-to-manage computing solutions, Kaspersky is prioritizing continuous updates to meet evolving corporate demands.

Cyber Immunity and Secure-by-Design Architecture

Kaspersky Thin Client is built upon KasperskyOS, a microkernel-based operating system following a Secure-by-Design philosophy. This approach integrates protective mechanisms from the ground up, providing inherent security at every level.

According to Dmitry Lukiyan, Head of KasperskyOS Business Unit, this Cyber Immunity approach offers “unparalleled data integrity and secure remote desktop connections,” which is vital for organizations looking to mitigate cybersecurity risks.

Key Enhancements in Version 2.3

 Enhanced Performance and Security

The new version features comprehensive support for UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface), the modern firmware standard replacing traditional BIOS.

  • Faster Boot Times: UEFI enables quicker system startup.
  • Secure Boot: This technology provides a robust safeguard against unauthorized system modifications during the boot process, significantly elevating security.

🔗 Improved Device Connectivity

Kaspersky Thin Client 2.3 expands peripheral support, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of devices in both Windows and Linux environments, including:

  • USB drives, printers, and scanners.
  • Webcams and headsets.

Administrators can centrally manage monitors, applications, and even customize desktops and lock screens via the Kaspersky Security Center console, reducing maintenance costs and enhancing operational efficiency.

Operational Efficiency & User Experience

The update also includes new functionalities designed to streamline workflow:

  • Tailored Desktop: Desktops can be customized to display only selected applications, reducing clutter.
  • Branding Customization: The OS interface can be customized to adhere to a company’s visual brand standards.
  • Videoconferencing Support: Integrated support for video calls facilitates seamless remote technical assistance and collaboration.

Kaspersky Thin Client 2.3 is currently available on the Centerm F620 hardware platform.
