Apple has officially launched Tap to Pay on iPhone in the United Arab Emirates, enabling businesses of all sizes to seamlessly and securely accept in-person, contactless payments. With this feature, merchants can use an iPhone and a partner-enabled iOS app to accept payments directly from contactless credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and other digital wallets—without the need for additional hardware or payment terminals.
Merchants using an iPhone Xs or later running the latest iOS version can accept payments through a compatible iOS app. At checkout, customers simply hold their contactless card, iPhone, Apple Watch, or other digital wallet near the merchant’s iPhone to complete the transaction via NFC technology.
Apple has partnered with leading payment platforms Adyen, Magnati, and Network International, which are the first to offer Tap to Pay on iPhone in the UAE. The service supports contactless payments from major networks such as American Express, Mastercard, and Visa.
Privacy remains a cornerstone of Apple’s payment ecosystem. Tap to Pay on iPhone ensures that all transactions are encrypted and processed using the Secure Element, protecting customers’ payment data. Apple does not store transaction details or track what is purchased.
With this launch, Apple brings a secure, convenient, and innovative payment solution to the UAE’s merchants, empowering them to accept payments anytime and anywhere—using just an iPhone.
